We use a star catalogue and your chosen date, time and coordinates to calculate positions. The examples show rendered artwork with the Milky Way and other celestial elements; the designer uses a simpler chart preview.
It is not a photograph of the past: it does not recreate clouds or light pollution. The Moon and planets, when shown, are enlarged for the composition.
How we represent the skyWhat is a personalized star map?
It is a calculated representation of star positions for a date, place and time. You can add names and personal words. It is not a historical photograph of the sky.
Does the sky change with the date and place?
Yes. The date, time and coordinates all inform the calculation. The map does not reconstruct clouds, light pollution or the actual viewing conditions that day.
Do I need design experience?
No. Choose a template and change its details and words. Layout, lettering and layer adjustments are optional. You can download a preview of the composition.
Can I print the preview download?
The marked preview is for checking the layout. It is not prepared or sold as a print-ready file. Wait for the final artwork at the intended dimensions before ordering a print.
